Ground surface deformation monitoring from spaceborne INSAR
Precise mapping of surface deformation provides critical information in the assessment and mitigation of natural and human-induced hazards, such as urban subsidence, landslide and earthquake. However, spaceborne INSAR has encountered three difficulties raised from temporal decoration, baseline decoration and atmosphere disturbance upon its application. Through researches in this area, the novel INSAR processing technique, permanent scatter INSAR (PS-INSAR), is developed to enable operational monitoring of ground surface deformation.
