National Symposium on National Geographic Conditions Monitoring technology held in Changsha

September 8th, National Symposium on National Geographic Conditions Monitoring technology was held in Changsha. The Symposium aims to through the discussion on theoretical methods, key technologies, application services, results publishing, and institutional mechanisms of National Geographic Conditions Monitoring, further promote the development of thematic geographic condition monitoring, and to explore the role and value of thematic geographic condition monitoring in the construction of ecological civilization, economic and social development. Deputy Director General of NASG Li Weisen attended the Symposium and gave a speech. Party committee member, Deputy Director General of Department of Land and Resources of Hunan Province, China, also made a speech.
Li Weisen pointed out, China's economic development has stepped into the new normal, so to carry out National Geographical Conditions Monitoring, continuously and comprehensively grasp the authoritative, objective, accurate and dynamic geographical information is an urgent need for the government and the public. Thematic monitoring should be closely around the major strategic and major construction projects on land and space development and utilization of resources, ecological environment management, planning and implementation, space planning strategy, the coordinated development of regional natural disasters prevention and control, closely linked to the hot issues which are the governmental and social concerns, to determine the key content of the monitoring, realizing appropriate expansion and enrichment for the monitoring classification index, and integrate economic and social information, according to the need to carry out special monitoring, and actively provide targeted services for social development and ecological civilization construction.
Li Weisen emphasized, the first General survey of national geographic conditions has been accepted, laying the foundation for the normalization of geographical conditions monitoring. Thematic geographic condition monitoring, as an important part of the normalization of geographical condition monitoring, has important and far-reaching significance. To carry out the thematic geographical conditions monitoring is an urgent need to promote regional economic development, and is not only the inevitable choice to speed up the construction of ecological civilization, but also the urgent needs to promote the construction of new city, and Surveying, Mapping, and Geoinformation industry transformation and upgrading. He put up the four requirements: one is to identify the main task and work content of thematic geographic condition monitoring. And thematic geographic condition monitoring is not exhaustive, but selective on-demand monitoring; Second is to expand the field of geographical conditions monitoring services, giving priority to the hot and difficult issues which are closely related to the development of national economy and social development an what our country and the people concerned about; Third is to insist on innovation driven, enhancing the geographical conditions monitoring supply capacity, paying attention to scientific and technological innovation and promote the role of special geographical conditions monitoring, developing new technologies and new methods to strengthen the application of high technology in monitoring the geographical conditions; Fourth is to play the advantages of traditional surveying and mapping, so that to make sure the objective reality of the monitoring results.
Jin Yongzhang said, Department of Land and Resources of Hunan Province, China would treat National Geographic Conditions Monitoring as an important work to adapt to the new normal, the implementation of new ideas, continue to strengthen the organization and security efforts, and put it into "13th Five-Year" planning of Surveying, Mapping, and Geo information work of the province . In recent years, Department of Land and Resources of Hunan Province, China introduced a large number of international advanced monitoring equipment, and built the Hunan Research Center of National Geographic Conditions Monitoring together with CASM and Central South University. It has also carried out the "national prefecture level city and the typical city spatial pattern change monitoring group", "Xiangjiang new district spatial pattern change monitoring, the Yangtze River Economic Zone (Hunan province) national infrastructure investment monitoring and other national geographic conditions monitoring, as well as Dongting Lake Ecological Economic Zone, the Changsha Zhuzhou Xiangtan city group, Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan green heart area, Hunan province grain planting area, the main functional areas of Hunan Province, Hunan province green mining complex action progress, Heng Shao arid corridor, the lower reaches of Xiangjiang river area and a number of major provincial special geographical conditions monitoring project. And 14 cities in the province carried out the city state geographical conditions monitoring on contents such as the layout, land and space development, red edge delineation of the nature reserves and ecological sensitive area, urban land expansion and Development Park, precise poverty etc.
On the Symposium, Li Jiancheng, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Liu Jiping, vice president of CASM, Professor Zou Zhengrong from Central South University made thematic reports separately on Satellite altimetry technology and geographical conditions monitoring, Thematic geographic national condition monitoring overall design and national level monitoring practice and Several key technologies and typical applications of thematic geographic condition monitoring. Attendees also watched the video Powerful Hunan--Development of Hunan geographical conditions monitoring business.
This Symposium was co-organised by CASM and Department of Land and Resources of Hunan Province, China. More than 200 people who were relevant business persons in charge and technical personnel working on thematic geographic condition monitoringfrom NASG, CASM, Wuhan University, Central South University, 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government, and the relevant departments and relevant units directly under the Provincial Department of land and resources, cities and prefectures in Hunan province who were responsible for mapping geographic information attended the Symposium.
