Pres. of FGI Jarkko Koskinen visited CASM

From Nov. 22 to 28th, 2012, Pres. of the Finnish Geodetic Institute (FGI) Jarkko Koskinen, Dir. of Dep. of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing JuhaHyyppä, and Dir. of Dep. of Navigation and Positioning Chen Ruizhi visited CASM. Pres. of CASM Zhang Jixian, Secr.of Party Committee Li Yongchun, vice Pres. Yan Qin attended the reception. Additionally, the researchers from the Dep. of Science and Techonoloyg, Inst. of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, Key Laboratory of Geospatial Information Engineering of the NBSMG, Instruments Calibration Center of CIQ (Beijing) also attended the reception.
At beginning of the reception, Pres. Zhang Jixian on behalf of the CASM, expressed a warm welcome to the delegation. Each side made a report about the recent research progress of earth observation and navigation technology respectively. Both sides jointly reviewed the implementation of cooperation projects executed from 2009 to 2012, and discussed the cooperation plan from 2013 to 2015. Based on the existing cooperation, both sides intended to further cooperate in the fields of laser scanning, synthetic aperture radar, geographic information change monitoring, and jointly apply for international cooperation projects from the China Ministry of Science and Technology, Finland Technology Bureau and EU HORIZON. In view of the excellent cooperation with CASM, the FGI is applying for the Finnish Centre of Excellence in the field of surveying mapping and geographic information. At present, the application has passed the first round of assessment.
After the reception, the "Specially Invited Professor of CASM" appointment ceremony was held. Li Yongchun issued the letters of appointment to Jarkko Koskinen and Juha Hyyppä, respectively.(Article and Picture by Zang Yi)
