“The Typical Demonstrative Applications of High Precision and Light-and-Small Airborne Remote Sensing” passed Acceptance

Project of “The Typical Demonstrative Applications of High Precision and Light-and-Small Airborne Remote Sensing” undertaken by Zhongce Xintu (Beijing) Co., Ltd. of CASM passed the acceptance organized by the National Remote Sensing Center MST. This is the fifth sub-project of national 863 plan key project "The Core Technology and Products of High Precision and Light-and-Small Airborne Remote Sensing System".
This project was aimed at the overall goal of the project and used the high precision and light-and-small airborne remote sensing system, developed by the project, which consisted of digital camera, LiDAR, POS, platform and fast processing system. The project studied the key techniques, such as the high precision stereo mapping, fast response mapping, fire, earthquake and other disasters assessment, forest resources map drawings, three-dimensional structure model and so on. At mountains Pingding and Shangcheng of He’nan, Beichuan of Sichuan demonstration areas, the project carried out data acquisition, SM of disasters and forestry by using light-and-small airborne remote sensing acquired ground data and analyzed data precision etc. The project completed application demonstration and system reliability evaluation in five aspects, such as 1:500 topographic mapping, rapid response mapping, disaster reduction and emergency remote sensing monitoring, forest precisely inventory and three-dimensional modeling of city buildings, formed 5 kinds of technical flows and standards, provided the technical support to the national major projects and promoted industrialization development in the high precision and light-and-small airborne remote sensing.
Some breakthroughs have been made, including: the directly 3D environment mapping based on the LiDAR data, the automatic planning system for fast response aerophotography, the recognition of broken infrastructures, combining the point cloud and optical image to build a three-dimensional model and so on. This project developed with independent intellectual property rights the LiDAR stereo mapping system, the remote sensing image dodging system, the automatic planning system for fast response aerophotography, the hazard assessment system, the forest resources mapping system, the city three-dimensional scene basic material acquiring and automatic building system. Moreover, it established two types of new mapping products, including a continuous three-dimensional region model based on the optical images and digital surface model based on the LiDAR point clouds, formed five specific technical flows and standards for engineering applications through adding innovative solutions and software system to typical thematic demonstration applications, and filled the gaps in our country in application of high-precision light and small airborne remote sensing system in the five topics.
The project developed LiDAR stereo mapping system, automatic planning system for fast response aerophotography, acquiring of basic materials of city three-dimensional scene, and automatic urban 3D scene building system not only have considerable advanced technology, but also have universality of applications. These systems have practical values in electricity, SM, disaster reduction, forestry and city modeling and so on, and have already been applied in engineering in some enterprises such as: Guangzhou Jiantong Co. and Beijing Ceke Space Co.
